New York Central RR Memorial Ride
This event is the 50th Anniversary of the LAST PASSENGER TRAIN run by the New York Central RR on May 18, 1958. Our commemorative ride boards at Geneva Station, and travels west across the original NYCRR Auburn Road through small villages with historic freight and passenger depots still standing. NYCRR Alco #8223 will be the lead engine, on loan from CNY NRHS.
Passengers wishing to board at locations other than Geneva may recieve reduced rate.
Train will stop at historic depots in Clifton Springs, Shortsville, and Canandaigua, and the passengers may get off to take photographs and tour the depots. Train returns non-stop to Geneva yard, except to drop passengers at original boarding locations.
Box Lunch available from Depot 25 onboard. Must order with ticket reservations. ($10)Choices: Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef. Includes chips and lite dessert.
Drinks and other snacks available on board.
Trip length is approximately 6 hours.
